JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients. This unit consists of 44 telemetry capable beds. Patients are offered a variety of highly specialized services including: 1) Orthopedics (hip and knee joint reconstruction, hip preservation, fracture care, metabolic bone disease, gait abnormalities and arthritis) 2) ENT (radical neck surgery, laryngectomy, thyroidectomy, tracheostomy, flaps, and facial trauma) 3) Plastics (skin grafting, flaps, leech therapy, burns, re-attachment of digits/extremities) 4) Urology (urinary tract infections, kidney stones, ureteral strictures, cystitis, benign prostatic hypertrophy). Certification is encouraged and financially rewarded.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered Nurse with license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania required OR Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit required.
6 months RN experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
